So, I spent a good part of my evening exploring this website and can now say with absolute certainty that this book is on my "To Read" list. I especially enjoyed commentary on modern design principles, such as branding. Ellen Lupton quotes fashion designer Norma Kamali: “The idea of branding, we have to rethink that…Sometimes a label only gets in the way.” There is a sense that if a brand gets too strong they can sell anything, and the true test of a product and its design is how it stands on its own, without a label to back it.
